Why Do You Have a Year?

I have been telling clients that they have a good 12 months to take market share.

Right now, most telecom providers are too messed up to deliver service. That goes for GTT, CenturyLink/Level3, Charter and Frontier. Altice can’t get a quote out in less than 72 hours. Zayo … I just stopped trying. AT&T is in a battle with the federal government over TW. Verizon is more concerned with 5G; increasing VZW revenue; and what to do next with Yahoo/AOL.

The former CLECs – PNG, Nitel, AireSpring, TPx – that can maneuver through this mess and deliver service will take market share but more importantly they will take MIND SHARE of the channel.

Service Delivery is the key to success.

No one gets fired for buying AT&T; but they will go bald dealing with the service delivery and automated systems.

After the 12 months, if there isn’t any more consolidation, then it will be a tough row to hoe. If CenturyLevel3 and the RBOCs get their sh!t together, they should put up a fight against the Comcast threat. But in the process they will (once again) steamroll over the CLECs like they have done numerous times in the past.

The best weapon for the former CLECs: the Channel. The old traditional channel that wants an alternative to the inner workings of the ILECs.

The clock is ticking so get moving.
