There are a lot of CRMs on the market from free to stupid expensive (I am talking to you Salesforce!). Most of the air in that room is taken up by Salesforce. A few others give chase, but the CRM market is competitive, not unlike the cloud backup market and the Hosted VoIP/UC/HPBX market.
The interesting thing today was that Contractually totally pivoted. It went vertical. It went from being one of several Gmail/Google Suite add-on CRMs to The leading intelligent CRM for real estate professionals. Now you can sign in with Office365 or Google.
There’s a lesson there.
Verticals are where the margins are.
There’s a handful of vertical Hosted VoIP/UC players; Weave being the one of note.
I’ll bet they didn’t can their paying customers from before the pivot either. So this was just another stage of growth for them. It could be for you too.
